Photography Skills, is for those who want to make rapid progress, having already mastered the basics
We have developed these Masterclasses, based on skills and experience we have, on experimentation to extend and demonstrate these areas and often, utilising tables, booklets and other information that was just not available and have been created especially for these Masterclasses. You take away with you extra tools and aides that we have had produced, that will allow you to implement your new skills far easier, and often saving a considerable amount. We have a very large amount of equipment including, 4 lighting systems, a Nikon flash creative lighting flash system with 9 flash units, and special items, a mains flash system and cool light continuous lighting, loads of lenses, special macro, and other items, a wide selection of reflectors and products, plus the use of a number of Girlequins, life sized mannequins with hair, clothes and makeup that appear very nearly alive. Where needed we also bring in live models. It would be impractical and not economic to have this depth of equipment and cameras for a number of equipment manufactures, especially as today cameras have a life expectancy of around 18 months before a new version comes out, and the range of expensive lenses continues to grow. We have standardised on Nikon cameras, lenses and some other items of equipment and use this exclusively while running the Masterclasses. As you know how to use your camera you will be able to apply the knowledge and experience gained to your own camera, whatever the make and model. If you do not use Nikon equipment it is not practical for you to use your equipment as it will not connect up with our items and would limit greatly what you will achieve, look on this chance to gain experience with Nikon equipment as a bonus. This is why we stress that Masterclasses are for those who already know the basics of using their cameras, and a beginners course should be taken for those who need more help. Experience days, similarly can be considered independent of camera make, as you will be able after to apply the experience you have gained with our equipment to your own, and allow you, with the aid of a personal tutor, to make a giant step forward, and while you cannot learn anything like as much in the field as at our centre, it may be an approach that some would prefer.
